Zephyr’s innovative college program shifts the context of dance and choreography out of the studio, and off of the stage, and into the college classroom. Zephyr artists carefully consider the intersection of concepts contained in course syllabi with principles of movement. Working closely with professors, Zephyr creates customized movement workshops for a wide variety of disciplines. Through these hands-on workshops, students experience a physical, kinetic connection to the course curriculum. This fresh approach can transform the students’ understanding of course material, as well as enhance their understanding of the creative process and experimental dance. Zephyr artists have used movement in a variety of college level courses including, but not limited to, Anthropology, Religion, Political Science, Philosophy, Economics and Nursing.
