Zephyr Dance performs at the DEFIBRILLATOR gallery.

September 13th, 2012

In the dark of night, still art comes to life. Movement in the DEFIBRILLATOR gallery is decidedly calm for Allowances and Occurrences, a three-hour “durational dance project” from Zephyr Dance artistic director Michelle Kranicke, happening Friday 14 through September 23. Outside, cars and trucks barrel down Milwaukee Avenue, while inside, Kranicke and company make careful gestures in close proximity to the audience, like displays of still art come to life. No need to reserve seats; the “exhibit” lets you come and go at will.
